We just live stream of “Facebook” Places listing.
Here are our first impressions:
Facebook will become the platform on which other applications are built, such as registration Foursquare. Thus Facebook is in an even stronger position that there is already in. If the functionality of Facebook as the world by the lack of check-in of the engine, it is probably still will review reinforced that the majority of countries in mobile applications integration its API. And that can only be good for business.
Google is nowhere in the social game – and their ability to go somewhere every day low. Google Android is not useful here. As the platform that the device, where it runs Facebook Mobile runs, is not as powerful as the location, the social graph that you run social applications – independent of devices that can be used to. (Microsoft, now is as absent here assure you that not even a mention.)
Foursquare Gowalla and other pioneer in the check-in business is now likely with the applications, which is more limited appeal. It does not mean they are toast (especially Foursquare) – is only now close opportunities. “Mayor” and “shields” and other gameplay elements Foursquare request, a small community that Facebook is “at what their friends,” he said, and respond ate here. “In using analogy, each Facebook, play less people Farmville (but only one company Zynga damage).
Twitter is not really the game situation. And despite many rumors, it is unlikely to play aggressively to it – is at least not according to the Facebook. Why not? Because Twitter does not really play the “friend” or the social sphere. Twitter has become a kind of interactive radio, personal interview, listen to an opportunity to interact and a wide circle of people that extends far beyond friends. It is very useful, and is here to stay (do not kill Facebook), but this is not really on the job site.
The press conference and really shows how different social home mobile applications on PC-based Web applications and social – and what may happen in the next few years brought the rise. These applications as diverse as Web Services have been PC software. And Chris Cox suggested Facebook might radically change the behavior of people and interact in the real world.
Well, there’s always a possibility Facebook “Places” will follow the path of Google Buzz … a product that has generated much enthusiasm from the right side of the door, then shot.
Buzz flop is not to share for the lack of effort or talent to your team development. Buzz failed because it was (and remains) a minor product with Google, far from the core of the company and now out of their comfort zone. Places the same fate could, but it seems much more important products and Mission Buzz Facebook Google. So I think that after the usual period of bumps deployment locations to stay here.
A final word: We believe that Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook have been up their games today evening. Mark was relaxed and in his element, and, after some particularly difficult public appearances recently, and it was refreshing in his element. Facebook, meanwhile is full of enthusiasm and positive energy, as if from a company that entered the center of innovation, Google and overcoat, he is really expected to really change the world.
