Google update on China

Since the launch of Google.cn, our search engine users in China, we have done our best to increase access to information in accordance with Chinese law. It was not always easy to achieve balance, to censor, especially since the announcement in January that we were not prepared, the results of Google.cn.

We all are now automatically redirected to Google.com.hk Google.cn with our search engine in Hong Kong. This diversion has to provide unfiltered search in Simplified Chinese, and for our users and working for Google. Therefore, we have examined the alternatives, and instead redirected to our users, we started a small percentage of them to a landing page that links to Google.com.hk Google.cn Web search, or where users can still Google.cn services such as to use music and Text to translate what we can offer local unfiltered. This approach ensures that our commitment to remain faithful, not to censor the results of the Google.cn and access to our services section.

In the coming days we will complete the redirection of all, end up with all our Chinese users to our new page, and again today to present to our application for license renewal PCI on the basis of this approach.

As a company we strive to provide information to users anywhere, including China. That is why we have worked so hard to keep alive Google.cn, and share our research and development in China. This new approach is in line with our commitment not to censor free and we believe the local laws.
